The Queen and the Dasi


                                                          
 There came the Queen, in her heavy Maroon Sari, decked with jewelry, Her heavy bracelet of matching color, Her earrings hanging with maroon beads.  Her hair braided with red and white flowers.  She wore her maroon veil on top of her head. She also wore a black beaded with gold on the bottom and the letter M on the circle was graved on the necklace. It was her mangal sutra, Resembling importance of her marriage to the King.  The ladies nearby all stood at the terrace watching her, staring at her. All her neighbors came out, as the bells rang.  They saw her walking with charisma. The Queen was holding a round plate with a pot full of water, fruits and red sindoor and fruits.  The Queen just entered the veranda of her house.   Mallika, “Where have you been?” Questioned,  Rani Ma.  “You know you will get the evil eye”.   “You haven't eaten anything”.  Rani Ma, “I had gone to the temple, to pray for King Raja”.  Where is he asked Rani Ma?  He must break your fast. “You must drink water from him”.  Yes Rani Ma, I have the water in the round clay pot.  He has gone to see the vegetables the farmers have planted.  My dear Maalika, I don't want you to get dizzy or faint.  "Raja will be here soon said", Mallika  I will see the moon and break my fast for his long life”.   You must come in quickly,  The neighbor ladies, Radhika, Jannini, Meera, Samiya, will all be joining us after you break your fast for dinner and they will also break their fast after seeing the moon and pray for a long life for their husband.  Just make sure the Dasi Bela doesn’t come.  Said Rani Ma,
She is not auspicious, she comes near anyone, That person get’s sick.  She has some evil tantra (magic) she does on people.  I don't want your Karwachauth to be inauspicious.   Yes ma, I will make the best of Karwachauth.  Queen Mallika entered inside the house.  All her neighbors started coming inside.  Everyone told Maalika how stunning she looked,” King Raja won't get his eyes off you”. Mallika entered inside and the lights started flickering.  She told everyone to come in quickly. The ladies all entered in the big house. It was decorated with candles and red flowers’, The living room had a big fountain in the middle of the large living room.   A sofa on the side’s .   A big honeysuckle flower was on the side of the front stairway. 
Suddenly The Dasi Bela was a mile away, praying and saying some Mantra's that would make the full
sugandhim pustivardanam urvarikamaba bandana mrityo muksaya mamritat. Then keep reciting moon not come out, and The queen's prayers would not be answered.  She would not be able to see Raja.   Bela suffered all her life and lived in poverty.  Bela had no family.  She had never known what love was.  Bela only wanted a good life.  Her health was poor.  She was dark skinned.  Although some say she was also of beauty like no other.  She danced beautifully.   Bela only wanted the Big house and all the luxury that the queen Malika had.  There were days when The dasi had no food, she cleaned the houses and came and cooked food for herself.  The man she loved The servant Abhi, had left her for another lady Damini.  Dasi Bela worked hard all her life,  She weft tears.  Her suffering had made her evil, jealous and cunning.  She only wanted what Malika had.  A family and a Big house. 
She kept doing her mantra's.
Suddenly it started raining hard.  Mallika's mother said, dear, it is almost nine, How will you see the moon, it's raining so hard.  Mallika with her strength, her knowledge and intelligence said, I know Dasi, Bela, she could have made it rain,  She must be praying evil so I do not see Raja, I can’t see the moon. My fast will break and my love for Raja will no longer be. All her neighbors came and said, You are too good of a person Mallika, you have loved Raja purely and from the heart.  I know if someone will do evil it will only come back to them.  They said Bela has done evil by doing Mantras. Look at her Karma. She never had happiness. You Mallika, have prayed to Durga and prayed for blessings for Dasi Bela, Raja and everyone in the neighborhood.  How?  Mallika, "How are you so pure-hearted".  When someone is doing evil to you, How do you bless them?  Mallika said, I will pray all night, for Raja to be safe, I will fast till next morning when it stops raining. Surely it will stop raining and the next morning or till two in the morning I will not sleep or break my fast. I will surely see the moon.   Her mother, told Mallika,  Call Pandit, Jagan.   He will come and see what Dasi Bela is doing, He has the powers to see around everyone's energy.  Also have him read the Karwachauth story, to all the neighbor ladies.  The story of The queen who became the dasi and the dasi who became the queen.  In hearing that story you will understand how you have sacrificed for Raja.  The neighbors said, "Yes love is a sacrifice".  You are fasting so you are sacrificing.  Pandit Jagan Called. He said I will be there in five minutes.  He flew quickly from his plane and was at the house in five minutes.  What is it, Queen Mallika. Queen Mallika said It has started raining, I have prayed for the long life of my husband, That I may never be a widow or lose him or his love.  You know Bela, she has done another mantra, where I cannot see the moon, She has made it rain with her powers.   Pandit Jagan said,  Say this mantra, Ohm trayambakam yajamhe Goddes Devi  Durga's Names, Ohm Durga, Ohm Parvati,  Mallika deeply prayed and said the mantra's. Over and over.  Two hours had passed.  Suddenly Bela was falling sicker in her tent and couldn't say the mantras.  Mallika noticed it stopped raining, She ran outside and noticed the moon was out, She ran out of the house on the front Veranda.  There she Raja,  He came with a beautiful blue sky sari and matching bracelets and jewelry of matching color.  He told her to go change, and he would break her fast, and give her water.   After half an hour Queen Mallika came out.   Decked , with her blue colored beaded jewelry and blue sari.  Raja told her you to look stunning Queen Mallika.   She came in front, stared at the moon then at him.  Then he took the clay pot filled with water and had her drink the water,  He then fed her fruits.  Afterward, The Pandit left, All the neighbor ladies went.  Mallikas mother Gave a blessing to both Mallika and Raja and wished them long life and happiness forever.  Mallika and Raja then ate their dinner.   The Pandit left and came down to Bela,   He told her you must stop doing evil Mantras, see you have done evil and you will die soon.  Start wishing good for others and you will see your health will improve, you will get your love, you will get a big house, Another man will be attracted to you.  A year later,  Bela had started praying good wishes for Queen Mallika, she said the mantra May queen Mallika be blessed with her love.  A year later, Bela's first love had come back to her as the Pandit had said,  Her health started getting better.   She was married to her love after another year.  She kept blessing others with good words.  She kept keeping a pure heart,  Dasi Bela’s negative energy had gone.  There Bela's love worked hard at a restaurant,  He bought her a beautiful house.  Dasi Bela was blessed with everything she longed for.  Only because her heart was pure.  Queen Mallika came to her house, and blessed her and her house.
